Ted Turner is the man behind CNN and has been living in affluence for several decades already, He bought the 4,680-acre St. Phillips island back in 1979 where he built a deluxe house and maintained the lush greenery surrounding it. The State of Carolina bought the island from him for $4.9 million and they plan to open it to the public.
