Star Jones – 160lbs – Gastric Bypass Surgery, A Healthy Diet Plan, And Regular Exercise
Known for her quick wit and humor on The View, Star Jones worked in New York as a prosecutor before making her way to television as a correspondent on Today and NBC Nightly News. From there, she joined Inside Edition and led the coverage of the O.J. Simpson trial before joining The View as one of the original co-hosts in 1997. It was during her nine-season run on the talk show that audiences took note of Jones’ changing body.
Diagnosed as morbidly obese and tipping the scale at over 300 pounds, the former New York attorney lost more than 160 pounds over the course of three years and initially denied all accusations of having gastric bypass surgery.
Claiming that she relied on diet and exercise to drop the weight, Jones eventually admitted the truth after leaving The View in 2006 when she told Glamour magazine that she had the surgery after concerns over her health and body image. Looking hotter than ever thanks to continued diet and exercise, the 54-year-old Jones has taken her talents to the catwalk as a fashion designer.
