Three Natural Ways to Eliminate Anxiety From Your Life

Stress has become an unavoidable part of our everyday lives. Between family, work, bills, and health, the strenuous demands of life can turn us into a nervous mess. Anxiety can manifest itself in various symptoms that can start showing at any stage in life.
Maybe you had anxiety from childhood or you developed it later in your life. Regardless of when the problem began, the underlying cause is always the same: your mind is constantly overthinking and overanalyzing things and you’re constantly thinking that the rug will be pulled out from under your feet any moment.
If you’re feeling this way, know that you’re not alone. Anxiety disorders have become the most common mental health issue in America which affects over 40 million people.
Many people suffering from anxiety or depression have turned to anti-anxiety and anti-depressant drugs for help. While medication does alleviate some of the symptoms associated with anxiety, it often comes at the price of nasty side effects such as weight gain, restlessness and insomnia.
Thankfully, there are other ways to control your anxiety without having to rely in prescription drugs. Here are three ways to win the battle against stress and anxiety naturally.Anxiety disorders have become the most common mental health issue in America which affects over 40 million people.
Shout it out
Talking to a friend or a therapist is one way to deal with everyday stress. But even better remedy is to scream at the top of your lungs to expel the fear and frustration from your body.
You probably remember being told as a kid to use your inner voice to communicate, instead of resorting to screaming and shouting. But you’re an adult now so make your own rules. If you suffocation with emotions and pent-up anxiety, the best way to let it out is by really letting it out.
When we say shout it out, we don’t mean that you take out your frustrations on others and make them feel on edge like you. We actually mean using a controlled environment to release your emotions in a healthy non-hurtful manner.
Fighting or suppressing anxiety is never helpful, it only makes you feel more overwhelmed and stressed. The best way to deal with the problem is to accept is a part of your life and learn to control it. When you’re alone, scream as loud as you can, stomp your feet, beat your chest or punch a pillow. Let yourself rage until you feel at peace inside.
Get moving
If you thought screaming was a good way to release stress and negative emotions, wait till you get in the habit of exercising regularly. When you’re stressed, working out is probably the last thing on your mind but it can actually be the best natural solution for managing anxiety – not to forget the added bonus of losing weight!
Ever heard about stress-eating and how it can help some people get temporary relief from their problems? Exercise works the same way by release the ‘happy’ hormones in our body called endorphins which can make us forget about all our worries – at least temporarily. Working out also makes you feel better on the inside which is bound to have a positive impact on your mental health.
For long-term anti-stress benefits, develop a habit of working out every day or at least 3-5 times a day, even if’s just for 30 minutes. Exercise releases ‘happy’ hormones in our body called endorphins which can reduce the symptoms of anxiety.
Cut Out Caffeine
If you already suffer from anxiety, consuming caffeinated foods like chocolate, coffee, energy drinks and Coke can actually make your symptoms worse. Caffeine is one of the most popularly consumed drugs and people use it on a daily basis to boost alertness and productivity but it also has some serious side effects. Caffeine can make you feel jittery and high on energy. But it can also trigger anxiety attacks if you’re feeling under pressure.
Of course moderation is the key to healthy life, which is why you don’t have to go cold turkey on your coffee habit. If you’re drinking 4 cups a day, try cutting back to 2 or 3 cups and slowing lowering your consumption with time and replacing it with healthier alternatives like decaffeinated coffee or tea which can actually soothe your brain and alleviate some of the anxiety-related symptoms.
