Woodstock was an opportunity for people to escape the uncertainty and despair of the outside world and simply share a love for music. The entire basis of the event also made it the perfect place for hippies and other individuals who believed in sharing love, not war.
Still, music is not the only thing these festival folk had in common. And it doesn’t take a genius to see that there’s some other force at work here. Illicit substances may not be spiritual catalysts. Still, they can be just as effective in helping people transcend the bonds of earth.
