While Brigitte Bardot dreamed of becoming a ballerina, she eventually ended up taking a shot at acting in 1952. She became a star when she appeared in the 1956 film,
And God Created Woman. Bardot’s name became synonymous to “beauty”
(and even at 84, she’s never opted for an anti-aging procedure) and films like
Viva Maria! made her a global feminine symbol. Since her departure from acting in the early ’70s, Bardot has dedicated herself in activism regarding the preservation of wildlife. Lately, she has sparked outrage with caustic comments she’s made, like the ones in 2018 claiming that women who accuse the perpetrators of indecent assaults they sustain are hypocrites.
