Born as Rosa Dolores Alverío Marcano, the Puerto Rican actress, singer, and dancer rose to fame by the name Rita Moreno. She made her debut in the 1940s and went on to be part of numerous movies and television shows. Rita Moreno never thought that her acting and award portfolio would become so big when she first started dancing in her early teenage years. It was during the ’50s that she started acting.

And after starring in The King And I and West Side Story, Moreno can take pride in the fact that she’s now one of the few EGOT (Emmy, Golden Globe, Oscar and Tony Award) winners. Moreno also dated some of the biggest Hollywood heartthrobs such as Marlon Brando, Elvis Presley, and Anthony Quinn. Since 2017, she has been acting in One Day at a Time and she doesn’t seem willing to retire any time soon.
