Murray Walker – 1923
Formula 1’s voice, the legendary Murray Walker, worked as a full-time Grand Prix Racing commentator for 23 years. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and dramatic voice saw him fast become a national treasure thanks to his witty punchlines. His birthdate is October 10, 1923, and he also offered television commentary for
ITV. After retiring from his Grand Prix Job, he went back to part-time broadcasting. He has been making appearances on
Sky Sports F1, Channel 4, and
BBC. At 89 years old, he was diagnosed with lymphatic system cancer which was treated because it was still in the early stages.
