You Won’t Believe These Photos from the 1969 Woodstock Festival: From Eccentric Spectators to Spellbinding Performances from Names like Jimi Hendrix.

Joe Cocker Plays Invisible Guitar

The English band, “The Grease Band,” was the act that kicked off day three of the Woodstock festival. And after treating the crowd to instrumental covers of “Who Knows What Tomorrow May Bring” and “40,000 Headmen,” their leader, Joe Cocker stepped out for his set.

Though Cocker’s cover of Pete Dello’s “Do I Still Figure In Your Life” left much to be desired, he made up for it with his cover of “Let’s Go Get Stoned” by “The Coasters,” which roused the crowd in a big way. No doubt they took it as a call to action.
