Though the attendees didn’t know it at the time, Woodstock would make its way into the history books as one of the most iconic events of the ’60s. But right at that moment, the half a million people who showed up to Max Yasgur’s farm knew they were experiencing something momentous.
The sad thing about incredible experiences is that they always end. And no doubt, the sadness on this young man’s face was echoed on the faces of many others. You can even make out a few others in the background, who like him, weren’t too eager to return home.
