Canned Heat – Fried Hockey Boogie
One of the loudest and most sustained ovations recorded during the Woodstock was given during Canned Heat’s 30-minute extended rendition of “Fried Hockey Boogie.” Of course, neither the song title nor the band name would much sense to a regular person. But for the folk gathered at the festival that night, it was the best thing they’d ever heard.
Once the people saw how good Canned Heat was giving it, they demanded more. And they responded with an all-out version of “On The Road Again.” Combined with intense guitar solos from Harvey Mandel and Alan Wilson, Canned Heat brought the house down before calling it a night.
