The Who – My Generation

Members of “The Who” were not in a good mood when they started their set on day two. And you wouldn’t be either if you had to wait 12 hours before getting a chance to perform. And as we hear it, the long wait was further compounded by some backstage mishap.

Once they went on, the first thing Pete Townsend did was kick the camera crew off the stage. Then and only then did they begin what would later be known as one of the most incredible performances of the event. Of course, there was also some onstage violence. But their performance of the 1965 anthem, “My Generation,” was what made headlines.
