Tim Hardin – How Can We Hang On To A Dream?
Tim Hardin may have been a respected and highly talented musician. Still, he had chronic stage fright and a substance abuse problem. Together these two factors made him an unreliable performer and put a strain on his Woodstock appearance.
Hardin was one of the few solo artists who climbed the stage on day one of the festivals. But he needed lots of liquid courage to face that many people. So when he began playing “How Can We Hang On To A Dream?” it was at a sluggish pace, and even his vocals were slurred. And as a result of his condition, Hardin preferred to keep his eyes closed while performing.
